Velvet Wax and Beauty was founded in May 2014 as a full body waxing and sugaring studio with one goal in mind: To make men and women feel like they have skin so smooth, they think it’s VELVET. Since 2014 VELVET now has two brick and mortar stores and a mobile waxing truck. Montie has taught over 50 certified sugarists and teaches advanced sugaring methods, Montie loves to share insights on entrepreneurship, beauty and social media with aspiring professionals.
Montie holds a B.A. in Public Relations from Howard University and a MBA from the University of Maryland. As a marketer, she has worked with brands such as
Johnson and Johnson, Essence Magazine and McDonald’s. Montie’s beauty publications have been seen on Essence.com, Styleblazer.com and

The in-person class includes:
• Certification upon completion.
• Hands-on training in Brazilian, underarm, face, and leg sugaring.
• A starter sugaring kit provided during the session.
• An opportunity to learn in a collaborative environment by practicing on classmates.
Question 4: Do I need to bring anything to the in-person class?
No, we provide everything you need for the class. Just wear comfortable clothing and bring your confidence!
Question 5: Can I wax or shave before attending the class?
No, participants are advised not to wax or shave before the class so students can practice sugaring techniques on one another.
Question 6: Will photos and videos be taken during the in-person class?
Yes, photos and videos will be taken during the class for promotional purposes, so we recommend wearing light makeup if desired.
Question 7: Is there a refund policy?
All purchases for both the in-person class and digital downloads are non-refundable.
Question 8: What is the added bonus for in-person class participants?
Participants in the in-person class can purchase the Sugaring Success Video Series at 50% off as an exclusive bonus. Additional bonuses will also be discussed during the class.
